Are Wheat Thins Healthy?

Although Wheat Thins are much healthier to snack on than things like chips and dips, they have not considered healthy food.

One serving one Wheat Thins contains around 140 calories, this is made up of 21g of whole grain per serving. Whole grains are naturally high in fiber which means they aid in healthy digestion as well as keep you fuller and more satisfied after a meal.

There is little other nutritional value in the crackers as there are limited quantities of vitamins and minerals. The most substantial amounts of minerals are seen in the levels of iron and calcium. Each serving contains 4% of the daily recommended dose of iron and 2% of calcium.

The main cause for concern is the amount of sodium in the crackers, with 200mg in one serving. Adults are recommended not to exceed 2,300 mg of sodium per day, which can be easy to do when you snack a lot alongside your main meals.
